Determined to Make a Difference
Grace Ishimwe
My name is Grace Ishimwe, and I was born and raised in a refugee camp where life was challenging.
Many girls around me didn’t get the chance to finish school; some faced unplanned pregnancies, while others turned to early marriage in hopes of finding support from men. Even when my future seemed uncertain, I had a different vision for my life.
All I ever wanted was to become a nurse and help others. Thanks to AGF, I was able to pursue my dream of studying nursing and midwifery, and I proudly graduated in 2024 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Midwifery, earning a credit. Although the job market isn’t great right now, I’m doing internships to give back to my community and improve my skills, all while hoping for a brighter tomorrow. I’m determined to make a difference and support others who are in situations like mine.
